Roberta J. Fox has been involved in various communications technology areas for over thirty years. Her career advanced from roles as hands-on field and systems engineer, to network and telecom management roles for leading companies such as Develcon Electronics, Citibank and Hewlett Packard. She led and helped build professional services/consulting divisions at HP, EDS, Deloitte Consulting and AT&T Solutions in network, e-commerce, telecom and contact centre technologies.
In 2000 she and her former IT director husband, Stephen Lawson, decided to form their own consulting firm. FOX GROUP Technology. Since then their firm has grown and evolved into one of the leading boutique Canadian high-tech consulting firms of experienced management technology consultants in IT, telecom, network and contact centre professionals. They all share a commitment to clients and excellent customer service, bring objectivity, creativity and structured methodologies and processes to work with clients to design, acquire and project manage complex technology implementations across Canada.
Recently Roberta lead the design, development and integration of the first in the world virtual suicide prevention distress centre linking coast to coast centres to provide suicide prevention and support to the people of Canada. The multi-media solution was developed by a small team of 5 professionals, involved 11 vendors and the input and involvement of over 142 people from across Canada.
The virtual contact centre solution was developed and deployed from concept to implementation in less than eight months and save a young person via chat the very first night! Since the November 2017 launch, over 87 lives have been saved provide voice, text and chat suicide prevention and support to the people of Canada! Roberta is now investigating adding AI and additional social media communication channels to support the growing and evolving communications preferences of people of all ages across Canada.
