Sandy Penn Whitehouse

Sandy trained as a pediatrician and is a Clinical Associate Professor at University of British Columbia and a Clinician Scientist with the Child and Family Research Institute. Her experience in leadership positions at BC Children’s Hospital ( Medical Director of Pediatric Emergency and Division Head for Adolescent Medicine), informed her interest and growing passion to improve healthcare through improving health services, particularly from a patient centred perspective. She has been engaged in the impact of Digital health since 2000( see bibliography). In 2010, Sandy took an extended sabbatical and completed a Master of Liberal Studies at Simon Fraser University. A strong advocate for young people and an agent for change, Sandy was Provincial Lead for transition from pediatric to adult services interacting with agencies, providers and patients across British Columbia, while Co-Founding Shift Health.
